New 'Chelsea Bikes' EP on its way!
Howdy, I seem to always start these mailing list posts apologising for my lack of activity…I’m afraid this one is going to be no different…”I’m sorry!” My excuse is that I’ve been busy recording. For the last few months I have been working on my new album ‘Starkweather’, it’s coming along nicely and I’ve got about half of it...

Album recording begun # week 1
So the first week of recording the new album has passed without incident - which is good! The ideas for the songs and the structure of the album have come to me quite quickly which is great but it does mean I’m feverishly writing notes, lyrics and instructions down at every opportunity. I’ve even got the album name and artwork pretty much nailed too which is extremely rare…I...

First review of the album
The mag reviewed my album sampler…check it out here or read below for their kind words! Like The Guess Who backed by a Beck-esque beat, Play Rewind Eject smash out some cool loose tones with tons of character. ‘What Do You Say?’ is pure class. It’s too cool for convention, but still mixes in some smoking retro guitars with a sparse trashy beat. There’s something...

New track 'Guiding Light'...the album is almost...
The album is almost finished now. I have two more tracks to complete parts for and then they will be off to Brighton to be mastered by the magician known as Pete Maher. I’ve been working on this album since May and it’s really good to see it all coming together. To celebrate this milestone why not have a listen to the latest completed track. It’s called Guiding Light and you can...

EP artwork and special CD only track
Thanks to the wonderful camera work of Martin Rondell (check out his work here), I’ve now got some artwork for the CD versions of the EP. This is the front cover, it was taken at PJ McGintys in Ipswich which is a brilliant pub/music venue/rehearsal facility frequented by a large population of the Ipswich music scene. I’ll be setting up an on-line shop from the website and reverb...

Against Me! - White Crosses
It’s not often I’m compelled to write about an album but recently I got hold of the new Against Me! album, White Crosses, which has been occupying my stereo for the last couple of days none stop. I cannot remember the last time that I listened to an album where I loved every song. In fact I don’t think an album by any of my ‘favourite’ bands has ever contained a...

this is the new start!
So this is my first blog on tumblr, I like it, I think I’ll do all my blogs from here in the future. If you are reading this via www.playrewindeject.com then ‘huzzah’, my efforts to link the tumblr blog back to the main website worked….I feel very intelligent, although it’s more down to the clever people at Bandzoogle rather than me! Well, it’s been about 3...
