So this is my first blog on tumblr, I like it, I think I’ll do all my blogs from here in the future. If you are reading this via www.playrewindeject.com then ‘huzzah’, my efforts to link the tumblr blog back to the main website worked….I feel very intelligent, although it’s more down to the clever people at Bandzoogle rather than me!
Well, it’s been about 3 weeks since I started work on my solo album and it’s going well so far! I’m getting inspired by new songs and sounds. I’m definetely enjoying recording it myself, as Phil Daniels said in Parklife, “it gives me a sense of enormous well being”.
The tracks I’ve been recording at the moment are completely new, coming about from sessions over the last few weeks. I’m really happy with how ‘What do you say?’ has come out. Lot’s of comments about it being a cross between Primal Scream and Chemical Brothers - I’ll take that! The plan is for me to finish off the mix of that song, get it mastered and make it available for FREE as an introduction to the album, partly because I want folk to hear it and partly because I want to give something away at the start to hook you in and keep you forever.

The plan for the coming weeks is to get the basics of three other tracks recorded and then I need to write some new songs to complete the album. I’m aiming for 10 tracks, a good solid even number. Also, I want to bring it in at around 40 minutes in length - just enough time to introduce itself, stay a while and then leave without intruding for too long.
I’ll start uploading photos, audio clips, videos etc. to this site when I have something worthy of your eyes and ears.
On a slight cross promotion effort, my band Hayze (www.hayze.co.uk) are playing this Saturday (10th April) at the 333 Basement Club in London - 333 Old Street, Hoxton to be precise. We are on at 8.45pm and it would be super to see you there!
